OUR MANAGERS IN SRI LANKA

HASITHA MAHESHI FERNANDO

Our local manager

My journey in social service has been deeply meaningful, and working with Young Mothers Hope has been a unique and transformative part of that experience. This organization is more than just a workplace—it’s a place filled with love, care, and purpose. At times, the shelter feels like a joyful home, full of laughter and connection.

We have created a safe and welcoming space where the children feel free to express whatever is in their hearts. Through trust and consistent support, we have become the people they can rely on the most. Being part of their lives and their healing journey has been an honor.

To me, Young Mothers Hope is not just an organization—it’s my second family. Every day, I continue to learn, grow, and serve with compassion, and I am proud to be part of something that truly makes a difference.

I'm happy to help these children. This is not just a job—it's a service. I'm learning new things every day at YMH and that makes me truly happy. I chose this profession specifically because it allows me to support and care for them.
